I have lived in Arizona almost my entire life and have always driven by the park. If you want a nice day hike and picnic it's well worth coming here. If you want the full experience though spend the night at the campground. It's peaceful and just absolutely gorgeous. Every campsite does have electricity and the bathroom is extremely clean. The shower is amazing for a campground. All sites are set up for tents and RVs. I think Picacho Peak was very cool. They have several trails but I decided to go for it and climes Hunters Trail. I am out of shape but I made it to the top. All the recommended items for this trail are NECESSARY!! Gloves, boots, water, Sun screen and PROTEIN ! It’s only 2 miles up but it treacherous. You will be using upper and lower body strength. You will be climbing up hill and have to pull yourself up. Making it to the top is all worth it. The feeling of accomplishment is truly worth it.

This was my second visit. Very helpful park rangers and several cool trails. We did flatiron peak which about killed me.. deff not for the novice or faint of heart. We stayed in the cabins which are great! The showers and bath houses are well kept up for being a state park. Can't wait to go back! Beautiful and memorable state park in the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix. Great hiking with the added fun of looking for the lost mine and all that gold! Also an excellent basecamp for exploring the Apache Trail, Salt River, Lake Roosevelt and Tonto National Monument. It does get hot in the summer, but yeah of course it does.

I am in love with this place!! Great scenery, make sure to plan out any trails you are planning to explore in advance and that is according to your level. Take a lot of water, sunscreen and good shoes if you are planning on walking. And… please for the love of good take a camera with you. This place is worth so much more time to explore. These formations are amazing and if you have the chance to climb any please do so. One of the most mesmerizing places in the world. A must see and definitely a must experience place. If you can you definitely should spend a few days here camping. Great hikes. Jaw-dropping views. Amazing star filled sky at night. Be aware though that camping spots are just a few. No water or electricity hook-ups. No general stores in the park.

Beautiful and unique spot to see We love touring the National Parks/monuments. This one is a truly must see. The scenic drive was awesome. Totally unique type of cacti. Great visitor center staff. Beautiful! The wildflowers were blooming. I loved the hike to Mount Ajo. I will go back again to explore more. I have a national park pass and I am a senior; so, entry was free and camping was only $10 per night. The water system was down; so, make sure you haul in water just in case it doesn't get fixed soon.

This is an amazing museum, there is so much variety in the aircraft on display, really great. I have a preference for fairly modern fighter jets and large helicopters and included some photos of my favorites. There is so much to see, it feels a bit overwhelming, but in a good way! I enjoyed the tour of the outside areas via guided group tour, but I still walked around myself a bit to see some closely. I was lucky to hear a personal account from a WWII veteran which was really memorable and neat, he seemed to have his speech very well practiced. The replica plane he was sitting by was also really cool!

Found this close by and decided to take the tour. If you book online, it will only show an hour out plus so make sure you go into the visitor center to see if the next tour has spots available, which ours did. Tours happen every half hour and lasts about 45 minutes. $16.50 per adult unless you are a senior or a resident, limited to 25 spaces per tour. Restrooms are on sight as well as a little gift shop. The tour was pretty informative and our tour guide added to the experience. You'll go down into a command station room where they explain what it takes to actually launch a missile. Then onto the missile itself to view. Definitely worth seeing. We would love to bring a group back here.

This was a nice little spot. I stopped here on my quest to get a magnet from every state and national park in Arizona. They have a nice little gift shop and a little museum. The museum was closed for remodel when I was there, but I could still see in and it looks like it would have been interesting. They have a theater where they show a 20 minute movie about the ruins. I did not attend. The ruins themselves are within walking distance of each other and it's interesting to imagine the people who lived there while standing in their house. It was free to get in and worth a stop if you are in the area.

Visiting the Grand Canyon is like stepping into the world’s coolest outdoor museum. Imagine rocks as old as dinosaurs, insane cliffs, and colors that change faster than a mood ring. It’s like Mother Nature decided to show off and created this massive masterpiece that leaves everyone standing at the edge, jaws dropped, and minds blown. The views? Absolutely epic! Every spot along the rim feels like the best seat in a 3D movie theater. One minute you’re at Mather Point getting those classic canyon views, and the next you’re at Yavapai Observation Station feeling the vibe of the rocks and the wind. It’s not just about looking at a bunch of rocks; it’s about feeling super connected to the planet in a way that’s kinda hard to put into words. And if you’re into adventures, this place is like a giant playground. There are trails where you can hike and feel like a real-life explorer, finding all the cool, hidden spots of the canyon. It’s not just a walk; it’s a full-on adventure where every turn has something awesome to discover, like secret caves or ancient fossils. So yeah, the Grand Canyon is not just another tourist spot. It’s where you go to get mind-blown by nature’s epic movie, with every look being a scene filled with the craziest colors, rocks, and views that seem to go on forever.

I'm on a quest to visit every state and national park in Arizona, and was able to finally hit the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert. First, it's huge. The loop to take in all of the scenic stops is 45 minutes if you don't actually stop. It was stormy when I visited and that was probably the highlight. The views were not what I expected. Very barren and reminded me of open-pit mining. I saw some petrified logs laying around. Not a lot. I saw more in the many gift shops in the area. Still, it's nice that the land is being protected. Was it worth a 600 mile round trip drive from Phoenix? Eh. Probably not, but I did get my souvenir magnets, a nice hat, some petrified wood from a gift shop, and a day of cool temperatures.

Rich in history and purpose. All-ability trails around most of the historical sites and into the chapel. Bathroom, picnic tables, souvenirs you can purchase. The tour guide book is very helpful. The gentleman working was so helpful and full of suggestions to best enjoy everything. Originally hadn't planned to come here but saw it on the map while we were in the area so made plans to come in the morning when they opened as its summer and hot. Its very beautiful. I'd like to return in cooler mo ths to hike the area. The rangers were amazing and really made visiting here extra special with my son doing g the junior ranger thing. The gift shop a bit pricey but some interesting items for gifts or souvenirs.

Universal Studios Hollywood was so fun. The lands are all so detailed with so much care in the detail. The staff were amazing and so many are so good at posting their characters. We went early with early access to start with the Nintendo Land. Definitely worth it as you cannot get into the Toad cafe most likely as almost every reservation went immediately. Avoided lots of crowds for the big things too like the Mario Kart ride which is really fun. The whole Nintendo area is very immersive and interactive. I would say that Harry Potter and Nintendo are my favorite, but I enjoyed each place we went to. Go in knowing that each Land mostly has one main attraction asking with shops and food and you won't be disappointed!

Valley of Fire State Park (Nevada)

Absolutely beautiful, paradise for a photographer. I would recommend going as early as possible to catch the sunrise, there are some spots that are just awesome. The hikes are not crazy difficult, so you can do them with the gear. My must visit spots are the mouse tank road (right before rainbow vista), fire wave hike and just drive all the way down in mouse tank road, totally worth it. We went during end of September and at 8am the sun was high enough that we felt it was 2 pm, so carry water.

What a peaceful place to be! It's so exciting to hike and explore the Red Rock Canyon! We had such a great time. A local showed us some ancient writing on the mountain. We were also able to watch some mountain climbers do their thing! Take the whole family. You can choose where to hike and the sights are stunning regardless. It's also a blast to climb into the little caves and relax for a little while as you take in the beauty of your surroundings! Now, there's always a chance that you will run into a tarantula in one of those caves, but I didn't. Take the trip and enjoy a great time outdoors!
