Refuse Transfer Station is the town dump, fortunately it is free and they accept anything.
Big Market is acually a hardware store that also sells cold soda and liquor.
Take some time to familiarize yourself with the layout of Quartzsite. You can stop by the Quartzsite Visitor Center to pick up maps and get information on local attractions and events. It's located at 1240 W Main Street.
Settle into your RV park or campground. Quartzsite has several options to choose from, and it's a good idea to get your base camp established.
The Quartzsite Museum, located at 161 W Main Street, is a quick touristy point of interest, that requires very little time to tour, but is a great resource to learn about the history of the area. It's a small but informative museum that will give you some insights into Quartzsite's past.There are alot of interesting points of interest in and nearby quartzite 🐪(see Tourist Info tab at the top)
Head to one of the local eateries for lunch. There are various options for casual dining in Quartzsite, I would suggest one of the fast food joints located at the west end of town, but during the winter season there are also alot of food trucks and vendor stalls, that might be a fun experience as they all have their unique flavor.unfortunately we cannot list these in the Restaurant tab at the top, because it is ever changing from season to season.
Depending on the time of year you're visiting, Quartzsite is known for its swap meets and flea markets. The largest one, the Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show, typically runs in January. If it's not the right time for that event, check out other local markets and shops for unique finds and bargains.Just window shopping at all the vendors down at Tyson Wells offers a unique Quartzsite experience.
Take a drive or walk around to appreciate the desert landscape and the unique rock formations. You might want to take a hike, or simply relax and enjoy the scenic beauty. There is plenty of BLM land around town and most of it has adequate 2 wheel drive roads, to explore.If you are new to the desert I would suggest reading this article 🐪 The Desert, before jumping out of your car and running into the wilderness, as there are some unique dangers found here
Find a nice spot to watch the sunset, As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, the sky erupts in a vibrant tapestry of colors. The Arizona desert often offers stunning sunsets that are worth capturing with your camera.I would reccomend LTVA La Posa West, just drive in about sunset and park near the visitor center.
There are a few restaurants in Quartzsite where you can have dinner. 🐪 List of Restaurants🐪 Afterward, consider stargazing. The low light pollution in the area makes it an excellent spot for observing the night sky. If you're into astronomy, bring your telescope or binoculars.
Remember to check the local event calendar to see if there are any special events or gatherings happening during your stay, as Quartzsite often hosts rallies, gem and mineral shows, and other interesting activities. Every winter (mid September to mid April), Quartzsite, Arizona is slammed with more than a quarter million visitors. Most of them RV'ers, it has become known as the RV boondocking capital of the world. So if you want to go check it out for yourselves this is the website for you.
There are a lot of paid and FREE camping options around Quartzsite. If you want to be close to the big tent where the RV show takes place each year, you will need to choose to stay at one of the LTVA sites which will cost you $40 for a 2-week stay or $180 for an entire season. Staying here, you will have access to potable water, a refuse dumpster, vault toilett and a dump station

Finding things in Quartzsite is not the same some of the times as other well polished spots in America. There aren't any "one-stop-shop" places here, and You will find yourself launching a store to store to find everything you need, like a scavenger hunt. In the winter season, with so many visitores, stores have a hard time keeping their shelves stocked as this town of 4,000 residents grows to an average of 750,000 in January each year.
There are quite a few regular restaurants and fast food places in quartzsite ( see this page List of Restaurants ) all year around, as this is a highway stop town and fast and convenient food are nessessary. There are alot of vendors with temporary spots all over town for the season, These are popular, but these will be on the pricey side.
Groceries are provided by 4 main locations, the 2 grocery stores, Coyote Fresh Foods and Roadrunner Market and the 2 dollar stores, Dollar General and Family Dollar (see this page Stores and Grocery. They have a limited selection of items.Of course most of the gas stations and travel plazas will have convenience groceries and fast food selections. (see this page Gas Stations and Garages)

There are various little huts with big water signs sprinkled about town, The RV Pit Stop mentioned above has drinking water,the Mobile station and also down by Arco are a few honorable mentions all in the range of 25 cents/gallon. Also of course you can purchase water at any convenience store along with ice.If you are desperate and just need a glass of water hit the Town Park restrooms or there is a cold water dispenser inside the town hall/library.
Firewood can be bought during the winter months at local grocery stores and from Woodstock Firewood on Kuehn St, off South Central Blvd for $10/box when you buy 3 boxes. Otherwise, it is $12/box.(2023 prices)- the rules for the Long Term camping in the BLM areas around Quartzsite. say " Do not collect wood within LTVAs. You may not possess native firewood! However with that said, It is not illegal to collect firewood as long as it is not private property or state trust land, or otherwise posted. It must be dead, no cutting of live trees, be careful as many trees in desert areas look dead but are just dormant durin dry seasons.Palo verde tree wood gives off a bad smell to most people. When there are fewer people around, the mobile wifi signal would be sufficient. However, as more and more people arrive your internet signal will get worse and worse until it becomes slow or non existent during peak usage time. These are links to cell provider coverage maps

There are several places to camp near Quartzsite, Arizona, including: BLM areas - These areas are free and have a 14-day maximum stay.
La Posa Long Term Visitor Area - This area allows up to 7 months of camping on the thousands of acres of public land that make up the desert surrounding Quartzsite. The long-term permit is $180 and the 14-day permit is $40.
The Plomosa Road BLM area is typically the least crowded BLM area around Quartzsite. It's located just north of Quartzsite on Highway 95. It's a wide open camping zone off of a paved road with good cell service. There's ample room to pitch a tent and park your car.
The La Posa Long Term Visitor Area has a dump station, dumpsters, water faucets, and 10 accessible vaulted toilets, the rule being that tent campers must be camped within 300 feet of a vault toilet, but most people tend to stretch this distance as RV's also park nearest the toilets
